Full Disclosure I received an advanced copy of this book prior to interviewing the author but I loved it so much I bought a copy as well. The world is filled with books about finding your "Blue Ocean", creating new products that everyone has to have or even how to change your mindset. So what sets this book apart from all those others? Everything.Daniel Burrus doesn't just give you one tool to shift your mindset to help you see the future before anyone else does so you can create an abundant future, he gives you many. I loved this book so much I recommended it from the stage while I was giving a keynote at a Cybersecurity conference. The news is filled with doom and gloom and some days it seems as if the world is moving so fast there is no way for your organization to survive unless it can move on a dime and that is not easy for a small business and almost impossible for a large business. Think Sears and other retailers. So how to companies like AirBnB and Uber and Tesla come up with ideas that totally disrupt the world? They anticipate what the world wants before the world even realizes they want it. So how can you learn to do it for your business and even your life? Enter Daniel Burrus and this book. You don't have to be in Silicon Valley to use the principles in this book to your advantage or to make a difference in the world. Whether you are a one person entrepreneurial business or a 10,000 employee multinational company, you can get something from this book.My copy of this book is completely dogeared and I bought a Kindle version so I can carry it with me to read whenever I get a few moments. The exercises in the book to differentiate between Hard Trends and Soft Trends, Skipping and Rear Window Thinking can transform your thinking in moments and get you on your way to finding the next big thing. During our interview Daniel even threw out several ideas for the next big thing based on a question I asked about current events. If you want to kick your business up, get this book for every member of your team and start taking action on what you discover.

First I need to disclose that i've had the opportunity to speak with Dan personally about our company and his knowledge and direction is integral to our success. We use every idea in this book...and more. The internet of things is real and it's happening whether you like it or not...whether you're ready or not. We live in a world of sensors, networks, computational power and AI machine learning and if you're not leveraging data to generate insight on every level of your company then you're going to lose...count on it. The best part is 99.9% of people are still not grasping this opportunity and therefor opportunities are everywhere...this book will get your thinking going in the right direction. Dan is the real deal and someone you should be learning from

I had heard Burrus speak recently and was really looking forward to his latest book. IT IS FANTASTIC! As a business owner, I found the content super relevant and inspiring at a time when things appear so challenging and uncertain. The book is full of creative strategies and innovative ideas directed at finding opportunity through the fog of technological changes that are impacting our world and daily lives. The concepts were presented in an easy to grasp format with lots of actionable ideas. I would definitely recommend it for entrepreneurs, solo-preneurs, or anyone looking for a method of harnessing and benefitting from the exponential changes transforming our world. I'm excited to share the Anticipatory Mindset with my team and key customers.

Great read. I found myself agreeing and proclaiming that many of the things that the author highlighted I've been saying for years. I recommend that anyone who is interested in organizational leadership to read this book. On a side note, it will make your look at your current organization in a different light and that may frustrate you when you realize that there are a lot of people resistant to change. Read this book and get out of there if that's the case!

In his latest contribution, Daniel Burrus provokes a shift in leadership thinking. As one of my first CEO clients taught me, “Anticipate. That’s my job.” In The Anticipatory Organization, Burrus guides the readers thinking about Hard and Soft Trends, skipping problems, disrupting, . . . all for a competitive edge! And in this book, he adds a model so that there is a path to potentially great success. Great book, once again!

The author is brilliant,I read his other books and this one is just as good as it full of insights. Best part I found in the book is how he explains we should talk to people who are clinging to the past and resisting change.I highly recommend the book to anyone who is either struggling with change or deals with someone who is.

My first read-through was fast and furious. This second pass is slower and more focused. There is much to consider in contrasting the methods contained herein with real world experience. Really, this volume provides fertile approaches to old organizational ideas. I'm already starting to put some of ideas into practice in the wild, with interesting results I might add. Thanks Daniel.

Daniel Burris writes well and produces many memorable phrases. I do recommend it. The book's intent is to create interest in online training by the same name. That's not necessarily a bad thing, however it might explains why, in my opinion, it is a bit light when it comes to methodology, techniques and tools. For that feeling, I give it 4 stars. However, I strongly agree with Mr. Burrus' main points: Adaptability is useful but won't get you out in front of the future. Some trends are hard trends and will become future fact; ignore at your own peril. A shared "Futureview" within organizations improves and aligns strategy, innovation, and culture. Those who think strategy or long-term planning are dead, or who are betting their future on being agile, need to read The Anticipatory Organization!
